Household Plus questions
The bedtime negotiation.
Every parent of a teen has had the bedtime phone fight. Every teen has had the bedtime phone fight. Nobody wants to be in it. The reason it keeps happening isn't a discipline problem. It's that the phone is the most rewarding object in the room, and "put it down" is the least rewarding sentence.
Household Plus removes the need for the fight. The boundary is set during the day, by an adult, with the household's agreement. At bedtime, the lock holds.
