Accountability
Backup for the promises you make to yourself.
Some nights, knowing that someone you trust is in your corner is exactly what makes a boundary stick. QuitScrolling lets you add an optional accountability partner, on your terms, without handing over an ounce of privacy.
How it works
You invite one person. You choose who, and you choose to turn it on. If you end a protected lock early, they get a simple heads-up. That's it. They are there for encouragement, not to police you, and you can remove them at any time.
What your partner sees
- Whether a lock was kept or ended early.
That is the entire list. Your partner never sees your messages, your photos, your browsing, which apps you use, your location, or anything else. QuitScrolling does not monitor any of that, for you or for them.
Why optional, opt-in, and minimal on purpose
Most "accountability" tools work by surveillance: they show another person your activity. We think that trades away your privacy and your dignity. QuitScrolling is built the opposite way. Accountability here is a single, honest signal you choose to share, nothing more. It is never required, and the app works fully without it.
Always reachable, always in control
Calls and essential functions are never blocked, for you or your partner. You can pause or remove accountability whenever you want.
Frequently asked questions
- Is an accountability partner required?
- No. It is entirely optional and off by default. QuitScrolling's core works on its own, through a boundary you set in advance and a recovery phrase that makes impulsive unlocking take real effort.
- What exactly can my partner see?
- Only whether you kept a lock or ended it early. They cannot see your messages, photos, browsing, apps, or location. There is no activity feed.
- Can I turn it off?
- Yes, anytime. You can pause it or remove your partner whenever you like.
- Does my partner need the app?
- They receive a simple notification. Setup details are handled in-app at launch.
- Is this just monitoring with a nicer name?
- No. Monitoring shows someone your activity. This shares a single yes-or-no signal that you chose to share. Your content is never visible to anyone.
