QuitScrolling
Editorial Policy
Last updated June 12, 2026
QuitScrolling publishes plain-language educational content about screen habits, sleep, and digital wellbeing. This page explains how that content is made and held to standard.
Purpose, not promotion
Our articles exist to inform, not to sell. They describe what the evidence says and, where relevant, how QuitScrolling fits, clearly labeled as such.
Medical review
Every Learn article is reviewed for clinical accuracy by Shariq Refai, MD, MBA, FAPA, a board-certified psychiatrist, before it is published. Each article shows the reviewer's name and a "last reviewed" date.
Sourcing
We rely on primary and authoritative sources, such as the CDC, the National Institute of Mental Health, peer-reviewed research, and clinical guidelines. Claims are bounded by what those sources actually support, and we say so when the evidence is mixed or limited.
Plain language
We write in sentence case, define terms in context, and avoid hype, scare tactics, and shame.
Not medical advice
Our content is general education and is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician. We are a wellness tool, not a medical service.
Updates and corrections
We update articles as evidence changes and correct errors openly. See our Corrections policy.
